I have a couple of decorative rounds similar to these that I crocheted into baskets. Those turned out great, but the items I stored in them wanted to fall through the open swirls of the design. Since these bases are solid, I decided to get them so I could remake the baskets. The outer rim of holes on these bases are smaller than anticipated, so I won’t be able to use the chunky yarns I used for my other baskets. However, they should accommodate a typical 4 weight/worsted weight yarn without a problem. The holes are smooth and even and shouldn’t snag or catch on the yarn. Since these are solid, plain wood rounds, they can be painted or decorated to match whatever you decide to make with these.
